Preliminary Exercise 4: Analyzing Setting for national lampoons European Vaction

 The key objective of this exercise was to produce and present accurate information and insightful ideas and back them up with relevant evidence. To show a strong sense of purpose by being intent and engaging. Also to be able to do an investigation of a subject of analysis in order to reveal a new understanding of the research problem. Students completed this exercise by watching a film clip and analyzing the elements of the setting in the film excerpt.

In this exercise, students had to understand that encoding is the way items are put together to have meaning. Decode is the way these items are broken down for their true meaning. Denotative is the original meaning of a sign. Representation is the way things are seen in the world around us. Lastly, students also had to understand the messages that were presented throughout the film clip.

Digital Camerawork: Shot sizes- Research

  SHOT SIZES-  Shot size is how much of the object or subject is shown in a frame. While camera shot is a shot of multiple of frames that go uninterrupted for a period of time. This is all determined by how the camera is operate positioned, and how it moved for certain effects. Close up and Wide shot are both examples of camera shot size. the concept of this assignment was to apply the camera work techniques and create the camera shots for the main concepts of camerawork, shot size , camera angles, camera  framing, and camera composition . Students  worked in groups of 2-4 to complete this assignment. each group had a week to take pictures either related to their movie genre  they choose or to take pictures of  miscellaneous things to complete the assignment.
